Washington - Spokane

Spokane

The "Hoyts" chimney is on the right if exiting Interstate 90 west from Spokane onto US Route 2. Technically just barely outside city limits, it is from the Hoyt Brothers Floral Company, founded in 1900 and with many indoor acres of flowers that elevated Spokane to prominence in the national ranks of flower cities (this was a thing, Spokane was 4th). None of this explains why they needed a chimney, or why it's the one piece left when everything else was removed.

Buildings of Spokane

Along the Spokane River

Also neither a building nor along the river, the Rotary Fountain is on the north side of Spokane Falls Boulevard in downtown. The river's just behind it, but you can't see it, so I'm not counting it.
