Victoria - Warrnambool

Warrnambool

The first sight coming into town from the west on Princes Highway (A1) is the 1940 clock tower.

Two old buildings and one newer one belonging to St. Joseph's Catholic Church on the west side of town. The current church is on the right of the first photo. The main body of the church was completed in 1872, but the entire tower was built in 1889 with a different designer. (This is why the design elements are only somewhat similar.) As for the second photo? The original 1856 bluestone church still stands and still serves church functions.

Back to the clock tower. This looks south from Raglan Parade/Princes Highway down Liebig Street, which happens to be where the clock tower is located (as well as downtown Warrnambool).
