Saskatchewan - Battleford

Battleford

The old, still-functioning Post Office sits on the corner of 22nd Street and 2nd Avenue West.

Heading east on 22nd Street to the corner of 1st Avenue, here's a building that doesn't belong on the road. The 1911 Canadian National (CN) Railway depot was moved from the tracks to the town to become a restaurant.

The Town Hall (and Opera House) is just up 1st Avenue, just a year younger than the other buildings.

This museum took over the 1914 St. Vital School and its associated St. Vital's Church (last photo), which dates to 1883. The church is older than the rest of the town's buildings because it was built for Fort Battleford, just to the south, before the town grew around it.
