Photos start out heading north until I get to sunset near Townsville; from there, I jump to Ingham and head south into a second sunset.


Starting in Hamilton Plains, there's an eastward view of Mt. Julian in front of Mt. Marlow, then the rest of the photos are Mt. Dryander and its foothills to the northeast.

Mt. Pring looms ahead leaving Bowen, with Sprole Castle to the right and taller Mt. Roundback in the distance (3rd photo right).


All of these photos are to my right, it's just that the 2nd one (Mt. Roundback) is looking pretty much behind me. First photo is Mt. Curlewis, 3rd photo is Seven Sisters (I know, there's only one), last photo is Cape Upstart.


The lone non-scenery photos from my entire Bruce Highway journey, the John Drysdale monument in Ayr, built in 1930 "to perpetuate the memory of John Drysdale who died May 12, 1928." Mr. Drysdale was an early land owner and developer in Queensland, coming into control of a significant sugar industry. In other words, big business.


The sun starts to set as I leave Ayr. The last 3 photos look varying degrees of northwestward at Mt. Elliot (cloud-shrouded, due west) and Saddle Mountain (clearer, to the north).


That's it for my journey to Townsville. Now enjoy the serene sight of a southbound sunset.


My western sunset views of the Seaview Range are interrupted by the appearance of ironically named Mt. Helen, which sits in the locality of Helen Hill. Hey, I can think of a better name for this feature.


The last 4 photos pan from south to west along the Paluma Range, which is the southern end of the Seaview Range.


I run out of daylight just past Bambaroo along the Paluma Range.
