Ontario - Ottawa - Wellington St. N side

Ottawa - North side of Wellington St.

The Supreme Court is just west of the Parliamentary complex.

The Justice Building and Confederation Building stand together across Kent St. from the Supreme Court and across Bank St. from Parliament. The Justice Building is the one I approach first heading east along Wellington St. and the smaller of the two. Together, they are a trapezoid cut about 1/3 of the way up from the Kent St. base.

Heading east again, this time focusing on architectural details.

Views west from Parliament Hill, the first from the front lawn and the others looking southwest from the rear, featuring the Confederation Building.

Ornate entryway.

Across Parliament, which spreads over several other pages, I come to Château Laurier, an old and current hotel.

Some architectural details from the west face of the hotel.

Looking east from two spots on the Parliament front lawn: right by the main building, and near Wellington St. The East Block of Parliament tries to get in my way.

The view from adjacent Mackenzie St. southbound.

Yet another perspective, from the north side of Parliament Hill along the Ottawa River.

The Rideau Canal lies between Château Laurier and Parliament, built to facilitate Rideau River shipping and now most useful for scenic views like these.

Last view of the hotel, looking north from Confederation Park.
