Lake Wanaka - northern

They call these the Southern Alps, and there's nothing more Alpine than the mountain-fringed scenery at Lakes Wanaka and Ha̅wea. When the sun comes out, the deep blues of the water and sky, green grass, yellow blooms, and white peaks redefine those pure colours. All photos are taken heading southward on Highway 6.

First glimpse of the lake.

First panorama of the lake, from south to north.

Let's take a second panorama.

Other than the first photo, this is yet another panorama. I'm fond of this scenery.

The last 6 or 7 photos make a fourth panorama, if you like.

One more southward scene before I get to that waterfall on the main Lake Wanaka page.

In order to balance photos, I moved another panorama to the northern photo page.
