The Bay of Islands emerges as I cross Te Haumi River at the south end of Paihia. The mount in the distance is Tikitikioure.


Views east across the bay from Paihia. The two islands in the foreground are Motumaire (bigger, left) and Taylor (tiny, right), with Moturoa Island in the distance between them. Russell is visible in the 2nd photo.


Motumaire Island is not entirely above water. The couple of pieces of land in the right foreground are still part of it despite being distinctly separate islands by definition.


Highway 11 turns west; this is west of Haruru.
