Looking south across the Sambaa Deh or Trout River. The rock exhibits tessellation that is due to some combination of freeze-thaw, periodic washing/drying, and weathering to expose the natural fractures of the bedrock.


Looking north at the Sambaa Deh Falls as the river enters a canyon on its way to the mighty Mackenzie River.


A lakey pond sits along the highway 5 minutes west of the Yellowknife Highway junction.


Another mini-lake a couple dozen km from Alberta, heading south.
