Bathurst

In Kelso, just east of Bathurst, along the Great Western Highway.

The grandiose 1880 Bathurst Court House, along Russell Street, albeit by night. The second photo shows the Mitchell Conservatorium in the west wing.

Fortunately, I didn't need to worry about lighting to view the war memorial, which highlights five conflicts. The one that's new to me is Malaysia, for the Malayan Emergency wherein Malaysia successfully fought for independence from the British Empire (which is why Australia was involved) but the Communists failed to be the ones who won it.

I had a little more daylight to photograph the 1886 Bathurst Hospital, renovated and incorporated into the new (2008) hospital complex as non-care buildings (e.g. for education).
