New Mexico - US 66 - Central Av., Albuquerque

Former US 66, Central Avenue, Albuquerque

The west side of Albuquerque, at least along Central Avenue, is all cheap motels with vintage neon signs. For $25 you can get cable TV and bars on the windows!

On into the center of the city.

Through the city and up to Washington Street. I'm not always sure how some of these things came about, like the rocket and the satellite, but they just lend to the aura of Route 66.

Signs need maintenance to stay historic.

Out the east side to the State Route 556 intersection, looking north at the end of the Sandia Mountains.
