Shemwell's Barbecue is one of the only operating businesses left in Cairo. Fronting on Washington Avenue, it's halfway decent, but much better than scrounging for squirrels or orange rinds. The brick streets (more of which are featured on the Roads page linked at bottom) are indicative of how dilapidated Cairo is; the city can't afford to pave the roads, and no one cares enough (or even lives along them) to request such.
