Photos head west along 1st Street (old US Route 20 and the main east-west drag) from City Hall at 4th Avenue SE to the Wapsipinicon River around 1st Avenue. It's an unusual grid system in that the center of town is defined not by City Hall, which doubled as a fire station (and tripled as a rest-room), but by the river crossing.
