Arkansas - Old Mill

The Old Mill, North Little Rock

The Old Mill is a replica of an abandoned grist mill constructed in 1933. It's an eccentric oddity intended to resemble times past, but with an unusual quirk:

Everything is made of cement! The bridge, the rocks, and especially the cacti. I guess that's why it's all still up?

To the east, Lakewood Lake #2 (of 3, sort of like a series of paintings). To the west, the lake ends and the "mill" begins. The fake was convincing enough that it appears in the opening to Gone with the Wind. The real one, with Clark Gable.

Across another bridge, this one sculpted to look like bones but very much still concrete, and into the mill house. Although nothing anywhere in this park comes close to working like a mill, there's an authentic iron grist mill right there in the middle of the first floor, dating to 1828. Guess not everything can be cement.

Pretty scene of water green.
