US 141,

Manitowoc Rd., old US 141/WIS 29, EB at CTH JJ, and then heading west on JJ from there (not signed as West to the right, which it should be) would take you to the sign atop the page. The old road I was on for this photo was cut off by the I-43 interchange with CTH JJ.


US 151 NB/WIS 29 WB past Elizabeth St. into Green Bay. Eight shields, one sign.


US 141 SB leaves US 41 on the northwest side of the city. I would be remiss to not point out the narrow US 141 shield, the wide kerning in "SOUTH" (times 2), the lack of border around EXIT ONLY, and the name Velp. Velp velp velp velp.


Saving the best for last, this old wooden US shield is in my collection. Wisconsin kept up this style longer than most states, but eventually the state name and double outline fell out of favor, as did the chipmunk shape with wider "cheeks" on the bottom.
