Starting eastbound, where the old alignment of Davisville Road continues straight for access to Old Baptist Road, and new RI 403 crosses the railroad on bright blue bridges.


And now onto the new freeway, with the old road picking up again on the left.


Curving into the four-lane freeway, but the northbound side has already narrowed to one lane for now. Obviously, when the rest of the freeway is constructed, this too shall pass (as shall cars traveling northbound).


Through the US 1 interchange, with the connection to Davisville Road leaving to the right and then crossing underneath the new RI 403. Obviously, since the rest of old and current 403 is Davisville Road, that was once a straight-through movement.


Funny, until I saw this sign I had always thought RI 403 was a north-south route, maybe because until RI 4 was completed it carried NB-SB traffic for that highway. However, this sign is at least correct in that regard, though it needs an "R.I." in the shield.


Around the curves to the end of RI 403, which now ties into Roger Williams Way on the way to the Quonset Airport.


Turned around and heading back west again. Straight ahead is the vacated former Roger Williams Way, which used to continue to US 1 and then curve right in the interchange complex with RI 403. I imagine the light poles will come down at some point, though the power lines may be there to stay.


Back up, over Davisville Road, and under US 1.


Continuing past West Davisville Road, the lanes merge, and soon RI 403 will return to its regularly scheduled surface alignment... for now.
