Oregon Roads - OR 99E/old US 99E - Oregon City & S.

OR 99E (former US 99E), Oregon City and south


Photos progress southward and are generally southbound.


Oregon City is best known for the 1922 Oregon City Arch Bridge, also known as the West Linn Bridge since it connects those two cities. I might be exaggerating, since this was also the western terminus of the Oregon Trail. Oregon City was clearly important once, but Portland has long since usurped the throne.


Looking back north at what's actually a steel arch coated with non-structural concrete.


Continuing south under the Southern Pacific Railroad.


Stopping at Willamette Falls Scenic Viewpoint doesn't yield anything road-related, but this truss carrying pipes in the power generation plant looks the part.


The NB Molalla River bridge catches my gaze, as it dates to 1936.


Pudding a 1947 bridge on my page. The last photo is a bridge just to the south intended only for drainage ("Pudding River Relief Channel") and is actually quite a bit older, at 1922 (widened 1932).


Unique Oregon signs, the last of which I haven't seen anything like elsewhere in the state, but it gets the point across. OR 99E hops on I-5 here, removed from its old alignment through Salem to Millersburg.


Heading south from Albany, past Tangent, to a parallel railroad truss across the Calapooia River.


US 99E was once four lanes in Halsey.


This is not an Oregon shield. No states near here use circles.

One look back north before OR 99E joins back with OR 99W to form OR 99.
