As I prepare to enter the 1910 Hawthorne Bridge heading west, I peek south at the I-5 Marquam Bridge, which is more interesting from the side than the top.


I chose the inside lanes for your trussly pleasure. The outer lanes originally had a streetcar, but that moved inside the truss in 1931, the deck changed from wood to steel in 1945, and I drove it in 2014.


Seriously beefy chains for a seriously beefy drawbridge.
