Ohio Roads - Torrence Rd., Cincinnati

Torrence Road, Cincinnati

Heading uphill (north) from US 52. Just past the railroad track, the road takes a sharp bend to the left. It appears that Hoff Ave. fed into it here at the horseshoe bend, further complicating the situation at the railroad tracks (sight distance, horizontal geometry, vertical geometry, now add turning traffic). No wonder the road doesn't exist anymore.

Continuing up to where the pavement once again is intact. I'm sure it was grooved to help cars climb this crazy hill up to US 50 or to prevent them from sliding down into Hoff Ave. or onto the tracks.

Walking back down the hill. Give this path another 20 years and you'll never find it again.

Back across the tracks and dipping down sharply to the remaining stub of Torrence Rd.
