New York Roads - Long Island Motor Pkwy. - Queens - WB

Long Island Motor Parkway
Queens, westbound from Springfield Blvd.

Heading over Springfield Blvd. and continuing to Bell Blvd. The green circular signs are of course trail markers, with photos of leaves and messages relating to a connected Brooklyn-Queens "NYC Greenway" (which is not continuous, but at least intended to be in a system).

Up to the Hollis Hills Terrace overpass and looking down along it. The steep, overgrown grade precluded me from exploring this bridge in more depth. If you make it down there, notice that there is limited room on the road itself, so stay behind the guiderail.

Again, the path leaves the Parkway right of way to duck under the Clearview Expwy. (I-295). But this direction gets a neat curve sign.

Here is where the path rejoins the Parkway on the west side of I-295. The Parkway took the curve in the background a little sharper and followed the cleared leaves close to due east.

Across Francis Lewis Blvd., past the jog off the Parkway alignment where the "Path Narrows" (according to the helpful trail sign), and looking at the 73rd St. overpass. This one I have plenty more photos of because it is easily accessible, so click to it below for more.
