New York Roads - Greene Co.

Greene County

So I was headed down CR 65 to the corner of NY 296. Nothing fancy, just a wide shield. The idea was to take CR 40 east, with a quick double-back to clinch the short CR 65A.

Well, Batavia Kill decided its one-lane crossing was just too old, so Greene Co. closed the bridge and forced me to reroute back up CR 65 to the north end of CR 65A, and back down that way.

With the bridge closed, CR 65A SB just turns into CR 40 EB with no warning - in other words, there's no signage at this junction, or else it was taken down for some reason. Hopefully something goes up with the replacement.

From the end of CR 40, I turned east on CR 23C, which really needs a new number (23B is old NY 23, and 23A is a state highway alternate, but 23C is unrelated), and then south on Scribner Hollow Rd. in Hunter. How about swapping this narrow shield for 65's wide one? The tractor may actually be within the boundaries of some nebulous "East Jewett," but it's quite far from Jewett center (at least 7 miles).
