Georgia Roads - US 1 - S. of Lyons
US 1 south of Lyons
All photos are southbound.

Apparently, there will be no Lyons bypass, at least for now. It's larger than most of the other towns along US 1, so plans or securing funding may be taking longer.

There's no widening, but there's still a bridge replacement underway, and I'll start sharing the day's sunset with you as well.

There sure is a lot of sunset, along with some older bridges not yet replaced. The puffy mashed potato cloud sat right above US 1, while the massive shepherd's pie cloud was off to the southwest. The broccoflower cloud (the one that didn't really glow pink) was in the west. When's dinner?

Once again, Georgia provides a narrow US highway shield for a 3-digit route and can't make its state routes consistent. I think GA 15 and US 1 swapped digits at some point. GDOT also does overhead LGS's, and they generally come out much better than standalone shields.

Into downtown Baxley.

South of there, a new SB side has been constructed, but no one's using it yet. Tying into a Baxley bypass would make this useful quickly.

One look back northward at the new roadway, post-dusk.

One more dualization end, somewhere near Florida, courtesy Lou Corsaro.
