Connecticut Roads - Kennedy Dr., Putnam

Kennedy Drive, Putnam

This tall former railroad bridge abutment stands at Arch St. at the south edge of Putnam. This was the jumping-off point to cross the Quinebaug River.

Looking west at the old river pier, with a new rail trail passing through the arches. The railroad was laid on top of the arches, but that would require the path to make it up that high, complicating access to Putnam via Kennedy Dr.

East from that point along Arch St., under the other fork of the rail line that may still be active.
