Connecticut Roads - CT 171

Bold Helvetica replaced the FHWA font on a number of CT signs in the late 1980s to early 1990s, and there's almost one on every route. I'll get this WB one out of the way, but be warned, it's not the only one on 171.

Remaining photos are eastbound, starting with the photo at top.

You actually get both directions' CT 197 assemblies in one, but only the EB one has the ugly 80's shield and misfit arrow.

Not much to see along the way, but plenty of intrigue at the end as CT 171 meets not CT 44, but US 44. You'd be hard-pressed to find an actual US shield in Putnam, though, or another "Best Truck Route" sign anywhere. So much for consistency. The lane signs are accurate but also bizarre.
