The "Junction 52"s are all newer signs, brought about by the eastward extension of CA 15 in 1988. Until then, the old signs were for CA 15 West. The arch bridge in the beginning is for Eastgate Mall.


The last 2 photos are on the left and right sides of the same gantry. There is no longer a CA 274, but signage will not be catching up anytime soon.


Just what was the CA shield error under I-8? Was it a CA 8 shield or just the completely wrong route?

Last 2 photos, left and right sides, same gantry. (At least I made it more than 4 photos this time.) This is Exit 11B SB but Exit 11A NB, and the same thing happens with the next exit (Palm Ave.). Caltrans determines exit numbers separately in each direction, which isn't the right way but at least it's better than not having exit numbers at all.


In the NB direction, CA 54 is Exit 8 and Sweetwater Rd. is Exit 9, but, as expected, they switch numbers SB due to the order of the exit ramps.


The last exit is unnumbered, since it's really I-5's interchange that just happens to require this ramp for complete access. I have to say, I'm disappointed in Caltrans for not mixing up exit numbers further just to make this 1A instead of a de facto 0.
