California once had Bugs everywhere thanks to its hot, dry climate and proximity to Mexico (which kept making them long after Volkswagen discontinued the car elsewhere). Now that they've permanently been canned, only collectors and aficionados still have or drive them.

Until 1983, I-710 was CA 7. You have a choice of riding around looking for a patched shield to fall off one of the sundry ancient BGS on I-710 and its intersecting freeways, or just driving WB or EB on Floral Drive (Exit 20C now) at the NB onramp.
