California Roads - I-680 SB - Exits 68-38

I-680 southbound, Exits 68-38

All the photos from the north side of the Benicia-Martinez Bridge, including tastes of the sister Benicia-Martinez Railroad Drawbridge (3rd photo) and its trestle approach across Suisun Marsh (7th photo). You'll get more of a mouthful from the NB page linked at bottom.

The last photo is on the Exit 49 ramp. The one before that is the most I could see from the NB lanes. Treat Blvd. was Geary Rd. until it was extended east into Walnut Creek.

The last photo is on the Exit 48 ramp and the two before that are left and right on the same bridge. The top halves of NB and SB signs at Exits 48 and 47 (see below) have been replaced to show exit numbers, which surprises me but I have no better explanation.

The last two photos are on the Exit 47 ramp. There's one lane until it splits, so three arrows is pure overkill. SB is a 2-lane loop directly to Main St. and NB follows it around the loop to San Luis Rd.

The distance in the first photo has been shortened considerably as the exit ramp was lengthened to eat the onramp from Hillside Ave. Notice the capital T in "ST". After that, the 2nd/3rd and last two photos are each left/right on the same gantry. CA 24 now begins here, but used to come on from now-renumbered CA 242 in a concurrency.

Was the last sign moved? I find it hard to believe both exits did.

Why was "Rd EAST" patched? Maybe the sign was damaged, but I don't see anything that's changed and nothing happened to the other signs at the interchange.

This page ends at Exit 38, where you'll find the last sign on the ramp.
