This former left-out/left-in interchange, more a "T" than a ramp, is now a regular diamond after construction.


The last 2 photos are left and right sides on the same gantry. CA 59 NB also comes to the next exit (CA 140), but this one is a better shortcut. Would be nice if it was signed at either.


CA 99 SB brings CA 140 EB around Merced, and shares space with CA 59 SB for the first 3 photos. Photos #2-3 and #4-5 are each the left and right sides on the same respective gantries.


As part of an ongoing effort to remove all grade crossings along CA 99, which CalTrans has a dream of someday becoming I-7, this is now Exit 179 at Le Grand Rd. north of Athlone.


More construction, this time to remove the at-grade intersection with Avenue 12 (now Exit 151, ramps in 4th photo) south of Madera. It was widened from a dusty 2-lane out to 6 lanes in anticipation of development.


As I cross the San Joaquin River, there's a railroad truss to the north and then construction to add new capacity for CA 99 NB. The new CA 99 bridge was overbuilt to maintain traffic during construction, so it now has a gigantic SB shoulder and could theoretically hold 4 lanes each way if the median barrier is shifted.


In the last two photos (left and right on the same gantry), CA 41 SB comes to Exit 126, which corresponds to CA 99 Exit 131. CA 41 is only a freeway through Fresno, though.


Ventura St. EB and WB above the west side of Exit 132A in Fresno. Old US 99 exits at 132B and passes under Ventura St. to get to downtown.


On the Exit 114 ramp.


Trees nearing Traver and widening west of Visalia (in Goshen) to add a third lane in each direction.


This overpass takes old US 99 (J St.) NB traffic back onto CA 99 in Tulare.


An abandoned US 99 alignment comes back into the freeway south of Famoso. It's C St. to the north but was cut off by the CA 99 railroad overcrossing.


The first sign is at the end of the Exit 41 ramp. The last is on State Rd. SB at Olive Dr. by CA 99 Exit 28.


One last button copy holdout, just past the CA 58 EB split on the south side of Bakersfield.
