Ventura St. EB and WB above the east side of Exit 132A in Fresno. Old US 99 exits at 132B and passes under Ventura St. to get to downtown.

At the end of the Exit 144 ramp.


Now numbered as Exits 186B and 186C in Merced. The last two photos are left and right on the same gantry.


Starting in Merced with CA 140 WB, going until I spy a US 99 shield that has been patched over instead of removed. Willing the patch to fall off.


Ending at the onramp from downtown Modesto (6th St., serving NB Exit 226 traffic).


CA 99 picks up and quickly puts down CA 120 EB in Manteca, then comes to the left and right sides of a single gantry in Stockton. CA 4 WB now follows CA 99 north for an exit to the Ort J. Lofthus Freeway, but don't tell the next sign.


Up to Sacramento, where CA 99 joins Business I-80 (see big link below) to get over to I-5. I took some artistic liberties with the 4th photo to avoid shrinking the signs. My readers don't care about gantry structures, right?


These signs are theoretically homeless. CA 99 NB left on the Exit 298A ramp and the freeway ahead will merge with Business I-80, so there is no route number for this stretch. That said, the secret designation of CA 51 underlies the eastern part of Business I-80 (which is US 50 and secret I-305 to the west - lots of secrets kept here), so you might consider these photos to be on CA 51 NB.


Now onto shared I-5/CA 99, trucks are OK in the middle lane. The last two photos are left and right sides of the same gantry at the exit.
