Rhode Island - Pawtucket Red Sox

Pawtucket Red Sox vs. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees

On August 7, 2010, the AAA affiliates of the major league clubs were playing in Pawtucket at the same time the big guys were playing in New York. At least here it was a win for the Yankees, 5-1 over the hapless Pawsox.

Two major leaguers currently out of a roster spot, call them the 26th and 27th men - Chad Moeller (3rd string catcher) and Juan Miranda (4th or 5th outfielder).

Can't see if it was a hit, but baserunners added up quickly for the Yankees.

On the other side of the ball, prospects Jesus Montero (#45, future Yankees catcher and at one point the DH that day, but now in at first), Eric Bruntlett (#4 at 2B), and David Phelps (#25, starting pitcher).

At least on that day, the Pawsox indeed were not playing ball, at least to any reasonable standard. But they looked like it.
