Ontario Roads - Highway 416

Highway 416 ends at Highway 401 (the 400 system is akin to our Interstate system), and Highway 16 is left to carry on from there to the border. It runs into NY, not US, 37, but ON doesn't have any NY shields on hand and I guess it's too much of a pain to go across the border and pick some up. North of Highway 401, 16 ceases to exist, replaced by CR 44. This is actually at the base of the Highway 401 EB Exit 721B ramp, but it's here to make this page more legitimate.

SB at the end of Highway 416; no, there is no need to take Highway 401 EB to pick up Highway 16, it's just a cloverleaf ramp. Ontario is pretty good at signing road directions, but I guess the sign on the right was altered at some point.

NB at the other end of Highway 416, where the bilingual signage (just like the shield on top) crops up because Ottawa is just across the river from Hull, Québec, part of a significant French-speaking population in eastern Ontario.
