MLK Jr. Drive, Cleveland

The Superior Viaduct, Cleveland's original crossing of the Cuyahoga River. A trace of it is left on the eastern shore where Superior Ave. (the namesake) bows southward to cross the river on the modern bridge, and West Superior Ave. runs down to Old River Rd. - originally, the viaduct launched from the Superior/W. Superior intersection. The more interesting fragment is the western approach to the river crossing, so old that originally it only carried streetcars (see the tracks) and carriages. Now the elevated structure is only used for parking, which is far better than tearing it down entirely. Superior Ave. is US 6 and US 20, and was probably also once OH 2. See some of it on my US 20 page.
