Old Mill Road, Palatine - Old NY 5

The highlight of the dead-end road is the first thing you come to. For most people, that would be the church, but roadgeeks love the old (albeit repainted) white sign. Click the sign for a closeup showing just how repainted it is, courtesy John Krakoff.

The old stone arch bridge can't handle traffic, so it's time to turn around and head back on a road that was obviously two concrete lanes.

But before I go, these two WB signs are hidden in the underbrush near the church, so difficult to see that I was just going for a hurried photo of the arrow sign and the army camp sign snuck into the background. Both are in older styles abandoned by the 1970s, if not '60s.
