Punta Banda and La Bufadora

Scenic roads, some very scenic signs. Talk about your bomberos! There they are in the road. The aptly placed sticker lets you know that fines are doubled - and these are fine.

A tope is a speed bump, and this one is anatomically correct - one bigger than the other. My goodness, don't let children cross here! They're too young!

Around Bahía Todos Los Santos (All Saints Bay, or the Harbor after Halloween) and the speed limit drops approaching Punta Banda, the end of the road.

Someone saw this and said, "¡Esta es una bufadora grande!", and thus the name was born. Hawai`i has a couple of these as well, known as blowholes because they look like whales spouting. They're created by hollow tubes carved into the rock through millennia of erosion and are not very common, so Punta Banda has become a tourist village, banning cars beyond the front gate, and ostensibly charging high prices for everything.
