Maine Roads - Danforth St., Portland

Danforth St., Portland

EB up the hill from US 1A. It's a creative use of the normally-downhill sign to tilt it 45 degrees and turn the downslope into an upslope, but really, any bicyclist who made it this far would be very well aware of the hill. It should be WB just before the crest.

This old box took my fancy, and may have been the location of a former traffic signal (nearly a century ago?) at Clark St.

Porcelain street signs baked onto a building. Click each side for respective closeups.
