As you can see, new mimics old, and no one has thought to put up 3-digit shields for I-395. The photo immediately above is older than the photo spread at the top of the page, and the old shield has since been removed from the foreground.

I-395 NB transitions seamlessly into I-290 EB, a reconstruction performed once I-395 was extended from near the end of the Connecticut Turnpike.
