Old warning signs for curves and cows, with an old chevron plate thrown in. Whenever the road curves to the south (photos 1, 3, and 5), Mount Etna rises in the background, hopefully silently.


Heading east into Moio Alcantara. Caduta massi means "falling masses", and may be a sign that predates the standard falling-rock graphic. Alberi in banchina means "trees in dock", or unprotected trees near the side of the road that may come out and try to eat you. From here, Lou continued east on SP 1 toward Ponte San Paolo, so follow the ride below.
