I-65 southbound

The Indianapolis Road Meet turned around on SR 334, seen in the first photo westbound above I-65 at Exit 130. The newly christened I-865 then splits off, last photo courtesy Doug Kerr due to the rain during the meet. I-865 was unsigned I-465 Spur until recently, but apparently not so recently that it couldn't be lettered with button copy. US 52 really ceases to exist at this point - all of the routes through Indianapolis have been taken off of the state books and officially follow I-465 in one direction or the other, but there is no signage of the multitude of routes. Basically, you get on the beltway, you're told which way to go, and keep going until you see your route again - or go the opposite way if you feel adventurous.

These were all taken while traveling in the NB lanes, so parden any issues.

Starting from I-70 and heading south from Indianapolis to the beltway offramp. Check out the I-65/70 page linked at bottom (big link) for more.

Button copy is at least 20 years old, so this Exit 1 ramp sign gets a pass for being incorrect. SR 62 once came onto I-65 at Exit 2 and dropped off again at Exit 1, so this was a SR 62 mainline sign until sometime in the 2000's. Now SR 62 passes around Jeffersonville on I-265 and SR 265. The sign's not entirely wrong, because at least following Tenth St. will eventually lead to SR 62.

Ending at the bridge into Kentucky, courtesy Doug Kerr.
