Delaware Roads - DE 5, 24/24A, 30
DE 5, 24 and 24A, 30
Due to the way I took photos on my gallivant through Delaware, these three (four - I'll explain the parentheses later) routes' photos are hopelessly intertwined. I'll do my best job of putting them in a nice circle - when you get to the end of the page, you can start over at the beginning and never get bored.

DE 5, ahem, southbound, jogging over from Indian Mission Road (DE 24 is legitimately east-west), and then on its own on Oak Orchard Road - DE 5 ends in the eponymous town, giving up when it hits the Indian River Bay.

DE 24A EB, Hollyville Road, at DE 5, where my expert camera skills present to you a whimsical conundrum. Oh, when to proceed? Luckily for you, dear motorist, those "signals" are naught but blinkers, at least for now, and I do hope that if the situation ever changes, the STOP signs are removed. As I promised in the header caption, I will now explain why DE 24A may not count as a route. According to at least one source, it officially exists, but you'll be hard-pressed to find it on any comprehensive listing of Delaware highways. I'm pretty sure there's at least one ALTERNATE DE 24 assembly on Zoar Road, but I didn't take a photo of it, not realizing I would later need the proof.

DE 16 EB at DE 30 outside Milton, where the rectangular (similar in shape to NY 9R, and about as useful) DE 5 ALT turns. Had it not been for the TRUCK banner, I would not have taken this photo, but that's just one too many banners for a shield. Either rename the route to DE 5 TRUCK, or just tell trucks on DE 16 to follow ALT 5. (Heck, they'd already be doing it by going straight, just say "TRUCKS TURN RIGHT to SOUTH 5.")
Random scenery shot.

EB and WB on these two routes' duplex in and around Millsboro. In the first photo, note that the "24" is Series C and the "30" is Series D. The second photo was taken at State St., which I'm pretty sure is old US 113.

Older shield, even older EAST - possibly dating to the days of "DEL 24" shields!
Onto DE 24 (and 24A)
