CT 508 is the short freeway that extends west from I-84 Exit 39. It was meant to extend much further as the CT 4 freeway, which you can read about on Steve Anderson's site linked below. Strangely, CT 4 doesn't follow CT 508 into I-84 like it would have if the whole shebang went down, but instead follows its old route toward Hartford, and then ends at the city line instead of proceeding to the heart of the city like it once did.

Before these eastbound CT BGS's was an old I-84 shield, but it washed out completely in the sunlight, and I believe it's gone now.
